You can access the Web User Interface (also known as the Management Console) with a local administrator user with read-write access, but you have lost or forgotten another local administrator's username password, and you want to reset it via the Management Console.
To reset a local administrator username console password in the Management Console:
Go to Configuration -> General -> Archive -> Archive Configuration.
From the Install Configuration from menu, select Text Editor and click Install.
In the dialog box that appears, delete all of the the contents of the Text Editor field. This ensures that only the desired local administrator username password is changed and that the existing configuration is not reinstalled. The existing configuration is not deleted.
Enter the following in the Text Editor field: security username
Note:
is the Administrator username for which you want to change the password.
Enter the following in the Text Editor field right below the command in Step 4 above: security password
Note:
is the password that you want to set for the local administrator username.
Click Install. The changes take effect immediately.
