Among the installation options for Symantec Endpoint Protection Cloud (SEPC) are "Enroll this Device" and "Create Installation Package", what is the difference between them?
Enroll this Device
It will attempt to associate the device in the portal with the user logged in the computer, for example if John Smith is logged into the machine, the "enroll now" will associate that user with the "owner" field in the portal.
If Mobile Device Management (MDM) is enabled in the console, it will also attempt to enroll the machine in the MDM profile.
The package created through this method cannot be reused for a different installation.
You can specify whether the device is Company Owned or a Personal Device.
Create Installation Package
The installation package will not associate the computer user with the "owner" field in the portal.
It will not enroll the device in an MDM profile.
The package can be reused in a different installation
Device is automatically added as a Company Owned device.
The "Create installation package" is a more simplified install since it does not have the functionality of MDM enrollment and it does not populate the field "owner" in the console, however, the "Enroll this device option" will automatically populate the field "owner" in the console and enroll device in MDM.
