Issue/Introduction

When the File Reputation is disabled on the Content Analysis System, the Malware Analysis is not able to identify well-known Malware samples.

Resolution

The File Reputation Service is required for the Malware Analysis Solution to work correctly. The final risk level of the sample depends on the hash recognition of the sample itself or the hash of a component inside of the sample during its scanning.

In the Content Analysis Administration console, go to System > Licensing > File Reputation > tick to Activate, and Save the changes.

Note: the File Reputation Service was always enabled by default on the Malware Analysis Appliance MAA system.
