Meaning of 'access PDF Messenger message' in the Encryption Management Server Web Email Protection log
Last Updated June 03, 2019
When a new PDF Messenger user is sent their first message by an Encryption Management Server internal user, the external user receives an email message based on the "Establish PDF Email Protection Passphrase" Message Template.
If the recipient's email address is firstname.lastname@example.org and the Web Email Protection portal is https://keys.example.com then, by default, the message body will contain text like this:
Please click this link to establish a passphrase that you may use to access your message.
Symantec Encryption Management Server 3.3.2 MP13 and above.
If the external user's IP address is 10.10.10.10 and their email address is email@example.com, this entry appears in the Encryption Management Server Web Email Protection log when the external user clicks on the URL:
10.10.10.10 firstname.lastname@example.org access PDF Messenger message
Note that this entry is written to the log before the external user has been prompted to create their PDF Messenger passphrase. The external user has therefore not logged into the Web Email Protection portal at this point.
