In the Control Compliance Suite Vulnerability Manager (CCS-VM) console's Jobs screen, finished jobs have a "Click to Open Report" button. These buttons stopped functioning after upgrading to version 12.8 of the product.
Just upgraded to CCS-VM version 12.8.
Clicking the button to open the report does nothing.
Database rights issue caused during upgrade installation. Now only the Administrator account internal to CCS-VM can open reports with these buttons.
An automatic fix for this issue will be incorporated in CCS-VM version 12.9.
To address this issue in CCS-VM 12.8, perform the following steps while logged intoo SQL Management studio with the CCS-VM service account.
1.) While in SQL Management Studio, right click on the SymantecCSVMDatabase and select "New Query". This should open a query window in the correct context.
2.) In the query window type the following:
SET IDENTITY_INSERT [dbo].[Section] ON
INSERT INTO [dbo].[Section] ([SectionID], [SectionName], [SectionType]) VALUES (71, N'Dashboard', 1)
SET IDENTITY_INSERT [dbo].[Section] OFF
3.) Click Execute button to execute the commands above.
4.) Login to the CCS-VM console with an Administrator account and select Configuration\Role Based Access\Users & Groups.
5.) Locate the User and Groups already setup in the system and re-select (re-establish) the READ\WRITE permissions that these Users and Groups have within the system and apply (save) the change.
This should renew the rights that the users and groups have within the product.
6.) Logout of the CCS-VM console and login with a non-admin account which should be able to view reports. Test to ensure that the user can now click the report buttons in the Jobs view screen and that the reports launch in a browser window.
