Issue/Introduction

When running LiveUpdate on a Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager (SEPM) it fails with a return code of 1817.  The SEPM CIDS Signatures 14.2 RU1 fails to install with the error message "LU6004: LiveUpdate did not complete successfully."

In the Windows LiveUpdate window:

LU6004: LiveUpdate did not complete successfully. Due to a transmission error, one or more LiveUpdate components failed internal authentication. Please run LiveUpdate again. If the error persists, contact your network administrator or LiveUpdate provider.

In Log.Liveupdate:

<mm/dd/yyyy>, <HH:MM:SS> GMT -> EVENT - PRODUCT UPDATE FAILED EVENT - Update available for SEPM CIDS Signatures 14.2 RU1 - MicroDefsB.CurDefs - SymAllLanguages. Update for CurDefs takes product from update # to #########. Server name - liveupdate.symantecliveupdate.com, Update file - <file name>, Signer - (null), package install code 0. The Update executed with a result code of 6004, => Due to a transmission error, one or more LiveUpdate components failed internal authentication.

Resolution

This issue is fixed in SEP 14.2 RU1
