When you upgrade from Control Compliance Suite 12.0 with SCU 2019-1 or Control Compliance Suite 12.0.1 with SCU 2019-1 to Control Compliance Suite 12.5, the following issues may occur:
The Symantec Application Server service does not start.
Some SCU dlls are not deployed by the Control Compliance Suite installer.
To resolve these issues, refer to the following steps:
Stop the Symantec Application Server service.
Install the Assembly Verifier QF (QF 10014 for Control Compliance Suite 12.5) in the Application Server folder based on your installed version of Control Compliance Suite. Download the QF package from the Related Attachments section of the KB article that is published at the following location:
Repair the Control Compliance Suite installation from the Programs and Features window of the computer.
In the list of installed programs, right-click Symantec Control Compliance Suite.
The installation wizard is launched. The installation wizard detects the existing Control Compliance Suite installation and displays the Maintenance panel.
In the Maintenance panel of the launched Symantec Control Compliance Suite installation wizard, select Repair/Reinstall, and then click Next.
In the Summary panel, review the components to repair and click Install.
After the repair is complete, the Finish panel lists the results of the repair. Click Finish to close the Installation Wizard.
Reinstall SCU 2019-1 or later as required. (Re-install is necessary as migrating to 12.5 will set the SCU to 2018-3)
To avoid performing all these repairing steps, install SCU 2019-2 after you upgrade to Control Compliance Suite 12.5.
If you have Control Compliance Suite 12.0 with SCU 2019-2, or Control Compliance Suite 12.0.1 with SCU 2019-2, and then if you upgrade to Control Compliance Suite 12.5, the issues that are listed in the Situation section earlier are not observed. However, in this case, you must reinstall SCU 2019-2 after you upgrade to Control Compliance Suite 12.5.
If you have Control Compliance Suite 12.0 with SCU 2019-1 or later, or Control Compliance Suite 12.0.1 with SCU 2019-1 or later, and then if you upgrade to Control Compliance Suite 12.5, SCU 2019-1 or later is replaced by the default content of SCU 2018-3. In this case, you must reinstall SCU 2019-1 or later as required.
The following diagram displays various upgrade scenarios for Control Compliance Suite 12.5 with respect to the situation that is described in this article.
