VIP - Registry Entries not getting populated while installing Credential Provider

After the machine is locked or session times out, a re-login causes the machine to lock up when VIP login screen appears, after entering the Microsoft login credentials, etc. This hard lock often requires a reboot of the machine.
While installing Credential Provider, if there is a blank space in the filepath referring to the CPConfig.txt, the Registry Entries are not getting populated correctly:
