The error message appears even though the user is logged in as the Altiris AppID. He should be able to access the Altiris Console.
Unknown. There is a possibility that the StringCache table was not getting updated properly. There is a trigger that populates this table. On some overwhelmed SQL servers, the transaction containing the trigger generated data is rolled back. It would appear that recently updated Solution(s) may have actually failed and thus failed to populate the the StringCache table with the new localized text.
Open Query Analyzer and select the Altiris database. Type
spStringCacheDisable and then run this stored procedure. After it is done, run
spStringCacheEnable. After that is done, try to open the Altiris Console. The treeview for the main tabs should take a little while to load since now the string cache needs to reload the information.
