Dagent / Aclient is unable to discover the deployment server via multicast

When a client machine boots up in to production or automation it is unable to discover the Deployment server via multicast.
There several causes to this problem. See below for details.
Each of the following could cause this problem:
Settings Check your settings on your deployment server. Make sure that multicast is not disabled in the Deployment Server configuration (control panel applet).
Proxies enabled If there are multiple subnets in the environment it may be necessary to have multicast proxies. If this is the case enable "Forward Deployment Server discovery multicast packets" on active clients in the subnet
Router/Switch not multicasting properly If all of the settings are correct you may need to use wireshark and make sure the packets are being sent from the agent and server properly. See KB 46473 for details on how multicast discovery works.
