KNOWN ISSUE: Changes made to Detection Rules are not received by clients running associated Managed Deliveries
Last Updated April 22, 2009
Changes made to the Detection Rules within a Software Resource are not seen on target systems with an associated Manage Delivery Job. It appears the old detection rules are run.
If the original detection rule failed to properly detect (misconfigured or unsupported configuration, such as DWORD values in the registry) changing it to try and fix the rule will always show a failed result because it is not running the changes. This was confirmed by creating a new Software Resource configured exactly the same save for the changes to the detection rule and the detection rule correctly fires.
This issue will be addressed in Software Management Solution 7.0 SP1.
To work around the issue please delete the existing rule and recreate it. This should allow the new Rule to go down as expected.
It appears that changes to the detection rule is not being sent down to the client, even if a new Managed Delivery Job is created for the Software Resource.
This issue was slated to be address in the SP2 release of the Platform suite. Ensure you are on SP2 of the Software Management Framework. This should resolve the issue.
