The remote control will not work on many computers and eventually all computer cannot be remote controlled. Why is this happening?
Last Updated May 22, 2009
Remote control is not working or works sporatically. If the server is rebooted or the axengine is restarted the remote control will work for a while but will fail eventually.
Download and run TCPView from www.live.sysinternals.com and look for a large number of TIME_WAIT connections owned by the system process that have the same ip address as an axengine connection to the server.
This is caused by a number of clients that have deployment agents and aclients installed together. This will cause the aclient and the dagent to fight for the port 402 to connect back to the axengine. The Time Wait occurs while the axengine is trying to handle all of the connections that the dagent and the aclient are trying to make.
Uninstall one of the agents.
Make sure in the tcpview that there are no more TIME_WAIT connections owned by the system process. When verified, then the remote control will work as it did before the dual agent install.
