PEinstall.exe and InitialAutomationEnv.iso are not being created by NewBDC.bat
Last Updated September 30, 2009
1) The Deployment Agent installation is incomplete as the WinPE bootdisk (c:\boot) is missing on the client. 2) The following files are missing on your server after installation. Even by running NewBDC.bat you are not able to create the files.
This issue occurs when bootwiz.exe tries to compress the PEinstall.exe and InitialAutomationEnv.iso. The root cause of this issue is unknown at this time.
To work around this issue, you have to turn off the compression of both PEinstall.exe and InitialAutomationEnv.iso by following these three steps:
1) Add the cfg-parameter as follows to the NewBDC.bat:
Note: Please find the file here: C:\Program Files\Altiris\Notification Server\NSCap\bin\Win32\X86\Deployment\bootwiz\NewBDC.bat
%BootwizExeWithPath% -q -pkg -pkgos windows -pkgcpu x86 -os winpe2 -oem "NS-Agent" -x86 %DeploymentRootDirectoryPath%\Agent\PEInstall.exe" -delete -taskinstall dir -task auto -cfg cfg.txt %BootwizExeWithPath% -q -pkg -pkgos windows -x86 %DeploymentRootDirectoryPath%\Agent\PEUninstall.exe" -taskinstall diruninstall %BootwizExeWithPath% -q -iso -os winpe2 -oem "NS-Agent" -x86 %DeploymentRootDirectoryPath%\ISO\InitialAutomationEnv.iso" -delete -task auto -cfg cfg.txt
2) Create a file called "C:\Program Files\Altiris\Notification Server\NSCap\bin\Win32\X86\Deployment\bootwiz\
cfg.txt" with the following content:
3) Regenerate the WinPE boot disks by running the NewBDC.bat script exactly as follows: C:\Program Files\Altiris\Notification Server\NSCap\bin\Win32\X86\Deployment\bootwiz\NewBDC.bat "C:\Program Files\Altiris\Notification Server\
Note: There is no trailing double quote character (") at the end of the command. This must be left off.
