KNOWN ISSUE: PMImport is not downloading the latest versions for Patch Management Solution for Windows 7.x
Last Updated October 21, 2009
Newer versions of the PMImport are not downloading. When looking at the status of the latest PMImport runs, in the Microsoft Patch Management Import task, the tasks show complete.
Drilling down into the task the Result: value shows 'Not modified'
While this is still currently under investigation. It appears to be caused by an issue with the time stamp being saved by the last PMImport run.
The current workarounds for this issue are:
Uncheck the Only Download if Modified option on the Microsoft Patch Management Import task. Note: Because this will cause the full PMImport to be downloaded it is also recommended that the schedule be changed to something less aggressive. Like setting the start date to a Wednesday and having the schedule run once a week.
Open the Microsoft Patch Management Import task after each PMImport and delete the run history.
Note: This issue is resolved for HTTP location in SP2; however, it is still in affect for the UNC location. The HTTP location is the default setting.
