Shut down the Domino server, but do not shutdown Windows.
Open notes.ini and make the following changes:
a. Server Tasks Remove the entries ‘ntask’ and ‘npas’ from the SERVERTASKS line
b. Extension Manager Add-ins Remove the entry ‘nnem.dll’ from the EXTMGR_ADDINS line. If ‘nnem.dll’ is the only entry, then the entire line can be removed.
c. Other SMSDOM Entries Non critical SMSDOM entries can be removed from notes.ini. The entire line can be removed. These entries are begin with the prefix ‘SAV’
Examples: SAVPartialMessageDetection=1 SAVTrace=1 SAVTraceDest=3 etc.
To remove files and folders
Open Windows Explorer.
Go to the location: C:\Program Files\Symantec\SMSDOM\
In the left pane, select SMSDOM, click Delete.
Go to the location: C:\IBM\Lotus\Domino\Data
In the left pane, select SAV, click Delete.
Click sav.nsf, click Delete.
Repeat Step 6 for each of the following files: savdefs.nsf savlog.nsf savquar.nsf
Navigate to C:\IBM\Lotus\Domino
Click ccantisp.dll, then click Delete.
Repeat step 9 for each of the following files: cfcfilter.dll dec2.dll dec2SDK.dll ecmldr32.dll icudt40.dll icuin40.dll icuio40.dll icule40.dll iculx40.dll icutest.dll icutu40.dll icuuc40.dll nnem.dll nnpas.exe nntask.exe pthreadVC.dll qscomm32.dll qsinfo.dll qspak32.dll scanners.dll smsdefs.exe smslive.exe smsmsg.dll WINT351.EXE WINDIST.EXE

To execute MSI clean up tools SMSDOM installs through the MicroSoft Installer (MSI). Microsoft provides a GUI based utility to remove MSI related information of a product from a windows machine. The following utilities may be utilized to remove MSI related information so that a subsequent installation of SMSDOM is fresh.
To remove remaining registry entries Remove the following entries related to Symantec Mail Security for Domino from the windows registry
Warning: We strongly recommend that you back up the system registry before making any changes. Incorrect changes to the registry could result in permanent data loss or corrupted files. Modify only the keys specified. See the document How to back up the Windows registry before proceeding.
To edit the registry 1. On the Windows taskbar, click Start > Run. 2. In the Open: field, type: regedit.exe 3. Click OK. 4. In the left pane of the Registry Editor, navigate to the following subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Symantec 5. Delete the registry key Symantec Mail Security for Domino 6. In the left pane of the Registry Editor, navigate to the following subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Eventlog\Application 7. Delete the registry key Symantec Mail Security for Domino 8. In the left pane of the Registry Editor, navigate to the following subkey: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Symantec\InstalledApps 9. Delete the registry key and value for SMSDOM 10. Click Registry > Exit. This saves the changes and closes the Registry Editor.
