You do not have access to the Brightmail Control Center and want to verify the default gateway on aSymantec Brightmail Gateway
You want to temporarily change the default gateway to connect to the server.
To verify the default gateway:
Log into the console as the admin account
Type: route and press enter
The output will look similar to:
Kernel IP routing table Destination Gateway Genmask Flags Metric Ref Use Iface 192.168.0.0 * 255.255.255.0 U 0 0 0 eth0 169.254.0.0 * 255.255.0.0 U 0 0 0 eth0 default 192.168.0.1 0.0.0.0 UG 0 0 0 eth0
To change the default gateway, see article TECH154842 Note: The change is not persistant across reboots and will be reset at the next appliance restart. You must use the Command Center interface to make permanent changes.
