You get an Error: "The Set up routine for Apaptive server Anywhere 9.0 ODBC driver could not be found. Please reinstall the driver", while opening Symantec Endpoint Security DSN.
Symptoms Unable to communicate with reporting component error during log into the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager.
Unable to Log into the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager, with "Failed to connnect to Server..." error message.
Corrupt Adaptive Server Anywhere 9.0 ODBC driver.
The first solution is to re-register the ODBC driver:
1.At a command prompt, navigate to the C:\Program Files\c:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\ASA\win32.
2.Run the following command:
Now you should be able to edit the SymantecEndpointSecurityDSN data source from the ODBC Data Source Administrator.
The second solution requires you to edit the registry:
1.Choose Start > Run.
3.Navigate to the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBCINST.INI
4.Create a new key under this key called Adaptive Server Anywhere 9.0
5.Under Adaptive Server Anywhere 9.0, create the three strings shown in the following screenshot:
6.Under the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBCINST.INI\ODBC Drivers, create the string Adaptive Server Anywhere 9.0 with the value Installed
7.Close the registry. You should be able to edit the ODBC data source or add a new data source.
Repair the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager, from Add/Remove Programes in the Control panel
1. Click Start. 2. Select settings-Control Panel. 3. Select Add/Remove Programes. 4. Select Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager from the list, and Click Change. 5. Run through the Wizard, and finish Repairing the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager.
