How do I submit a file to the Symantec FTP site using the Windows command line FTP client?
You need to submit a file to Symantec Support that is to large for traditional means. You have no true FTP clients installed on the system.
Note: You must call and open a support case with Symantec Technical Support to obtain the FTP logon and password. Please Note: Anonymous users will NOT see the /Incoming directory.
NOTE: Please be sure to create a .zip archive of ALL files to be uploaded with the case number prefixed to the .zip archive. Example: 123-123-123.zip or 123-123-123casedata.zip where 123-123-123 would be the actual case number used.
Open a command prompt- Start>>Run Type "cmd" >> Click OK
Browse to the directory with the file you want to upload.
Type "ftp ftp.entsupport.symantec.com"
Enter the username and password when prompted.
Type "cd /pub/support/incoming"
Type "put [the full path to the file you want to upload]"
When the file transfer is complete, type "quit" to exit.
After the file has been uploaded, notify Symantec Support via email.
