There are a few ways you can check the definitions that SMSdom is using.
1. review the SMSdom Log (savlog.nsf )
Look for log entries of the information type and you should see events similar to the following
- SMSDOM: Symantec Mail Security for Domino service started Version <X.X.X.X> Virus Definitions <MM/DD/YYYY> rev. <XXX> Email scanning on <X> threads write scanning on <X> threads.
- SMSDOM: Switched to virus definitions dated <MM>/<DD>/<YYYY> rev. <XXX>
2. Show server status
Using the Domino Administrator Open the SMSdom Settings (sav.nsf) database from the server you are wishing to check the definitions on and select the server group. Click the show server status button in the action bar, then click Check Statistics and will display something similar to the following:

3. Tell sav info
Using the tell sav info command from the domino console.
It should display information about the running version of SMSdom including virus definition information and would look something similar to the following
> tell sav info
